Log time against a deliverable
Two ways to get hours onto a deliverable: run a timer as you work, or fill them in afterwards.
Before you start
- A project with at least one deliverable. Time is always logged against a deliverable.
Run a timer
Open the Day view
Go to Time, then open the Day view. It shows the timer at the top.
Start the timer
Click Start Timer, choose the project and deliverable you are working on, then click Start.
Stop when you are done
Work as long as you need, then click Stop. WorkWiser logs the elapsed time against that deliverable automatically.

Add time by hand
Open the Log Time form
From any time view, click Log Time.
Fill in the entry
Pick the date, project, and deliverable, then set how long you worked. Turn Billable off if the time should not appear on an invoice, and add notes or tags if you like. The Billable toggle needs the manage-billable permission, which admins have by default; without it, WorkWiser sets billable for you from the time category.
Save it
Click Log Time. To fill a whole week in one pass, switch to the Grid view: type hours straight into the cells and click Save.
The Grid view: fill the whole week, then Save.
Duration or start and end time
How you enter the length depends on a setting your admin chooses for the whole team. Most teams just type a Duration, like 2, 1h 30m, or 2:30. If your team tracks start and end times instead, you fill in a Start Time and End Time and WorkWiser works out the duration for you.
Worked past midnight? Set an End Time earlier than the Start Time and WorkWiser splits the entry across the two days for you, after a quick confirm, so each day keeps the right hours.
Good to know
Log as many entries as you like against the same deliverable on the same day; there is no one-per-day limit. An entry that runs past midnight is split into two rows automatically, one per day, so each day’s total stays right.
New time is billable by default, so it is ready to bill. Changing whether an entry is billable needs the manage-billable permission, which admins have by default. Once it lands on an issued invoice, the entry is locked.
To fix an entry, click it to reopen the form. To take one out of your totals without deleting it, right-click it and choose Archive; archived entries reappear under the Archived filter, where you can Restore them.
Time views open on your own entries. With permission to see team time, a Me / Team toggle switches the day, week, and calendar between just your hours and the whole team’s, and each entry is labeled with who logged it.
Admins and managers can export the visible range with Export CSV. The exact rounding used for billing is set once for the whole team by an admin in organization settings.
