Guide
Import your data
Bring existing projects, clients, and time into WorkWiser from a spreadsheet.
Before you start
- Your data in a CSV or spreadsheet file (up to 5 MB).
- For deliverables, the project you are importing into should already exist.
Import deliverables into a project
Open the importer
Open the project, go to its deliverables, and click Import.
Upload your file
Drop in a CSV or Excel file. WorkWiser reads the columns and moves you to mapping.
Map your columns
Match each column to a field. Title is required. You can create a new custom field on the spot, or skip columns you do not need.
Preview and fix
Check the preview. If a value is not recognized, a status or a dropdown option for example, map it to an existing option, or skip that whole column to leave it out. Each flagged value shows why it did not match.
Import
Import the valid rows. Anything skipped is listed so you can fix it and import again.
Import time entries
Open the time importer
Go to Time and open Import. This is an admin task.
Start from the template
Download the template so your columns line up. Date, project code, and duration are required. Each row needs a deliverable or a category (never both); billable and notes are optional.
Upload and review
Upload your CSV. WorkWiser checks every row and selects the valid ones. Fix or deselect any rows it flags.
Import
Import the selected rows.
Good to know
There is no one-per-day limit, so two rows for the same deliverable and date both import as separate entries.
Only valid rows are imported; the rest are skipped and listed. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
