Reconcile a month before you invoice
The Invoice month report answers one question per client: what did I already bill for this month, and what is still sitting there unbilled. Reports, Invoice month.
Before you start
- Reports sits in the left navigation, under Invoices.
- Anyone who tracks time can open it. Amounts appear only if your role can see rates; without that you get the same report in hours.
- If you cannot see your team’s time elsewhere in the app, the report shows your own work and nobody else’s.
Read the two halves
Billed comes from the invoices themselves
The billed figures are read straight off the lines of your issued invoices, exactly as they were billed. They are never recalculated from hours, so a rate you change later cannot quietly move an invoice you already sent.
Unbilled is what is still waiting
Every billable hour in the month that is not yet on an invoice, priced at the rate that applied on the day the work was done. Where rounding would change the hours an invoice bills, the report shows the rounded figure next to the raw one.
Hours with no rate are counted, not valued
If a project and its client both have no rate, those hours appear as hours and stay out of the amounts. The report says so rather than showing them as zero.
Move around
Pick a month
Use the arrows beside the month name. The month is part of the address, so you can bookmark a month or send someone the exact view you are looking at.
Switch the rate basis
Rates as they were prices each hour at the rate in force on its own date. Today’s rates re-prices the same work at what you charge now. Whichever is active is written on the page, so a figure is never ambiguous.
Open the detail
Open in Time jumps to the month in the time views. The arrow on a project row opens that project’s own Time tab, and the invoice numbers under a client open those invoices.
